What Is a Job Scam?
A job scam is a fake employment or “task” offer designed to take your money or your details — or to use you to move money for criminals. Instead of paying you, it finds a way to get money out of you: an upfront fee, or a “top up” to unlock higher-paying work.
The most common version right now is the task scam: a stranger offers easy paid tasks (liking videos, rating products), pays you a little to build trust, then asks you to deposit your own money to continue. That deposit is the trap.

They reach out cold
An unsolicited message on WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS offers a job you never applied for, with flexible hours and great pay.
They make it feel real
A friendly “manager” or “HR” walks you through simple tasks and even pays you a small amount — so it feels legitimate.
They ask for money
To unlock better-paying tasks you must “top up”, pay a fee, or buy “training” — the moment money flows the wrong way, it’s a scam.
The money disappears
Payouts stop, the account is “frozen”, or you’re asked for ever-larger deposits to withdraw. Anything you put in is gone.

Are “get paid to like videos / do tasks” jobs real?
Almost never. These “task” or “like and earn” jobs pay you a little at first, then require you to deposit your own money to unlock higher-paying tasks — and that deposit is the scam. No genuine employer works this way.
Is it normal to pay for training or registration before a job?
No. Legitimate employers do not charge you to be hired, trained, or registered. Any upfront fee — however it’s framed — is a strong sign of a scam.
They already paid me a little. Doesn’t that make it real?
No — small early payouts are the hook. They build trust so you’ll deposit larger amounts, which is when the money disappears.
They asked me to receive and forward money. Is that a problem?
Yes, seriously. Moving money for a “job” can make you a money mule, which is illegal even if you didn’t know. Stop, keep the evidence, and report it.
